Default Deals Gap ( Now w/ Pics)

So we went to the Gap, and holy shit. COPS COPS COPS. I got a warning, and my friend got three tickets, two for the same thing. But it was so fun.

You get Federal tickets in a national park.

Yes, you still have to pay them.

No, the judges are assholes who are appointed for life. Don't try to get off by going in front of them, they could care less what you think about them and most of them hate bikers with a passion.

Yes park rangers are the smelly anus of law enforcement and they know it, you will rarely get off without the maximum ticket possible.

The cops have been cracking down like crazy. A lot of local businesses are really pissed since the amount of tourists (bikers) has dropped off severly from all the cops writing tickets for anything they can come up with. check out www.tailofthedragon.com

I really wanted to take a trip up there but im not even going to bother until that situation changes.

I got a warning for my plate being up under the tail. My YOUNGER friend got two tickets for the same thing. Needless to say he was a little pissed when I got my warning.

I had to put my mirrors back on, and they were checking the wear on the tires too!

All I have to say is have your mirrors on, plate out where it can be seen, and smile pretty for all the camera dudes out there!

Edit:

Better Pics

Yep, Me and the 6 out front. haha Really, we were still pretty slow after seeing like 10 cop cars in every turn, so we were just creeping. Great view though!

US-129 is not a national park highway. The Blue Ridge Parkway is a national park highway where ONLY Park Rangers can write tickets. On any portion of US-129 that goes through a national park, either park rangers OR State/local LEO can write tickets.

Its been substantiated by the locals that the coppers WILL be there in force for the rest of the season and the beginning of next year's. So its a pretty safe bet that we can write it off for now. Anyone's guess after that. - VE

has anyone written a letter about this?

I wrote two and sent them both to the same people. I got an automated response from one person. The exact same response for two different letters.
