First ticket....Really sucks :(
In two years of riding, I did a lot of speeding, wheelies, and blowing red lights. I only blew red lights at like three in the morning and nobody was around. The lights never change due to our light bikes. I knew it was going to catch up to me.
Anyways.....four in the morning today, I blew a red light because nobody but one car in the distance was present. It happened to be a cop. I also took off doing close to 70 in a 45. I reasoned with the officer, telling him that I would be on those lights forever. He was a really nice guy and gave me a ticket for only blowing the lights, and nothing for the speeding. I got off easy, but it still sucks.

Relax bro.
Tickets are a special tax you have to pay for riding like a badass.

Thing is, it's still considered a moving violation and it may carry points.

I got a speeding ticket on my bike a while back. It sucked, but what can you do? I mean, I was speeding.
You've been blowing red lights forever as it seems, and you only got one ticket. You knew it was going to bite you in the ass sometime, right? Anyway, you'd probably have been better off with the speeding ticket, and not running the light, but what's done is done.
At least you aren't on here trying to find a way out of it. You are owning up, good on you.

Down here in NC they're contemplating passing legislation that allows you to run a red light after waiting for like 3 minutes or something like that.

um, if you know how "loops" work, it doesnt matter how light your bike is. i installed these for 2 summers and it isnt a weight sensor that picks up vehicles, it's a magnetic field that runs through a wire under the pavement. the loops that the government puts in public roads can even pick up a bicycle in most cases, but iknow it can pick up bikes. if it's not picking up your bike then it's not picking up cars too, and the gov't needs to replace them (they last about 5 years)

I waited through three lights before I blew the light on my bike waiting to make a left turn, and I know that the same left turn lane sensed my car the day before.
