Two weeks ago while in my truck, I got a ticket in PA for going 88 in a 65 ($171.00 fine), but I have a MD liscence. I did some checking on the internet and found out that although MD and PA have reciporicity, since it's an out of state ticket, I will not get points. It will show up on my driving record however, which means my insurance is SURE to go up some.

That may be the same rule for the tri-state area. Did the officer give you a fine or do you have to report for a hearing? If you have to report for a hearing, I think getting points will be the least of your worries.

found this on the internet

For out-of-state drivers, there is no simple answer. New Jersey reports some moving violations to the "Drivers License Compact", and this can affect insurance rates in some states. New York drivers should not be affected - New York does not recognize out-of-state tickets (except, strangely, from Ontario and Quebec) and they do not appear on a NY driving record. Many other states recognize out-of-state tickets, and they do affect insurance. New Jersey, for example, recognizes all out-of-state moving violations as 2 points. If you are a New Jersey driver and get a speeding ticket in New York, you should consider hiring a New York traffic lawyer.

Booo. I'm from Jersey and got popped in upstate NY for 105 in a 45. Hired a lawyer and he said he should be able to reduce it to a 4 point violation, instead of the 11 point violation it has the potential to be. sucks to see that it'll carry over.
