I was heading to the local USAF Recruiter's office for a DEP Meeting and got behind this old beat up car. The speed limit is 35. I end up following it, not paying attention to how fast it was going. An unmarked Explorer pulls behind me. When we get to the main road, where the speed limit is 45, he pulls me over.
So it turns out the old beat up car was doing 55, and since he turned before I did at the stop, the cop pulled me over.
I was doing 50 apparently and thought he pulled me over because I didn't stop at the stop sign (I did, completely, but thats all I was able to think of since I didn't think I was speeding at all). I pulled over once the shoulder turned into pavement, and waited.
He writes me one for 17 over. Then tells me, he wish he didn't have to cite me, but he caught it on his cam and radar but wasn't able to get the tag for the car in front of me.
Lesson learned: Don't assume others are doing the speed limit.

It was my mistake for not paying attention.
PS. Don't mention running. Id never run.
