Unhappy I can't stop speeding

Today, I took a ride to my college, two hours each way, and back and I reminded myself that PA cops dont like Maryland drivers; so I said I would go the speed limit. It's mostly all highway to get there w/ a limit of 65mph for the first half and 55mph the second half. I tried. I really did. It lasted like half an hour, then I realized I was going a lot over the limit. Then at some points I opened up a bit more, like especially on the straights. The r6 is like the devil. It fucking pressures you to go fast. I have this problem everytime I ride it.

I know this may seen stupid, but I just cannot for the life of me stay at the speed limit. I'll be on the backroads around here, going 35, look up to make sure the road ahead of me is clear, then I look down and I'm going 55. Is there anything you guys do or tell yourselves to stop speeding?

I'm thinking of selling the 6 soley for this reason. Its gonna get me shafted one day. I'll just stick with freeride/downhill mountain biking...

i always rode with my pinky finger wrapped around the very end of the clip-on so that i could maintain a constant speed. That being said, i usually did 80-85 in the 65 zone. As long as you're alert, you're not in too huge a risk of gettin pulled. i always watch the on-ramps b/c thats where you're going to get nicked.

I try to be alert, I just know one of these times a copper is gonna be sitting somewhere not visible and I'm gonna fly by and get raped. Like some cops consider 20 over wreckless and will arrest you on the spot. Its shit like that that freaks me out b/c I ride 20 over on a daily goddamn basis (when on the 6, of course). And whats worse is I dont even realize it half the time.

Talking

Ya these bike's make speeder's out of any one, its hard not to open them up and run. The only solution ,i have come up with is not to ride everyday. I wonder if you can get a ticket for slowing down too fast

I stayed behind a minivan yesterday on the way to work riding the bike doing the speed limit while everyone else is passing at 45. It's 35 and then suddenly drops to 20 about 300 feet before a rotary and that's where the cop gets you all the time. I was lucky one day when the cop let me go on a warning doing 40 in my truck.
I quickly slow down when I find myself going 10 or 15 above the limit. I can't afford a ticket. I know what you mean. It's not easy keeping the bike in check.

I try to only go as fast as the people passing other cars....like if there is a group of people going 15-20 over I will make sure I am right in the middle. But if I am in a group I tend to go whatever the desired speed is.......more eyes to look for cops that way.

I feel ya.
Going to pay another ticket tomorrow so I can get my license back.

I don't think 90 is that fast.

I did fond out from a friend that if you OVERPAY the ticket by about 3-5 dollars, and do not cash the refund, it will never go on your driving record.

So to that I said, BULLSHIT! But then I did it. Never did see that point on my record. I am a believer now I tell ya! It may cost you in the short term... I mean a 140mph, and pulling a wheelie right in front of the cop that just caught up to you after doing 140mph is gonna be mad; how i got away with my bike that day i will never know...

/edit: am I condoning speeding? Yes. Hell look at my Avatar... Do I look SANE to you? I just spent about 2k on an 02 to rebuild it to a Rossi replica!!!
Am I saying do it all the time? No

BUT: if you do get caught, I'm trying to offer a POSSIBLE solution to the problem at the moment. At least thats how it works in Cali.

DAMN NO POINTS!!!
