hm.. well yeah, i've actually been riding an 04 r6 for just over a year and a half. as you can tell from my post count i don't post here often, so i don't quite know the community. i was just doing a little experiment to see if you guys are abrasive or embracing to noobs.

and yes, i've taken msf, and i've got all the gear except for a full suit and track pants.

cheers.

Also, should I REALLY take MSF? I don't want to spend the money if I'm going to learn as I start going through the twisties anyway.
yea im all for takin the msf class. best class money can buy. wouldn't you feel more comfortable on the bike knowing what you learned in msf class than not knowing the basics at all.

Default To make a long story short,

It's really up to you. Nothing we say will sway your final decision. Consider this
though, if you do stupid shit on this bike, it can kill you. Use your head, I'm sure
that in there somewhere, you have a sense of"self preservation". Pay attention
to it and you should be OK. A fast machine can bring a lot of enjoyment. A long
hospital stay or a funeral does the opposite. Your choice.

No matter how cautious you are, until you know what a bike is capable of, and have ridden enough to predict what its going to do, you are at its mercy. At 400 lbs on two wheels, you are the bikes bitch. So find a good deal on a bike, whether its an old r6, or an f4i, or an ex500, find something you can beat and drop and not care about. You will go down at some point, everybody I know has gone down, maybe not majorly, but everybody has atleast had their bike tip over. With that said, protect yourself in the process too. Good leathers help, boots are a must, leather pants/draggin jeans are a must, gloves too. Dont be stupid on it, listen to the members on the board and pay attention. You get cocky on it and youll pay, even a 250 will own your nuts.
