Post Alpinestars Jacket and Shoei/Arai Sizing Help!

Hey All,

Just hoping to get some input/advice from you. Im looking to get new gear possibly in Cal Sportbikes Alpinestar gropubuy. Also I have done a ton of research and searching, and trying on gear is not an option as we have very few shops around which inturn never have stock.

Im 5'11" - 165-170lbs My head is 59.5cm (7 1/2 in) around (big round head)

I currently ride a large Shoei RF-1000 and the fit is excellent including the head shape. I wanna upgrade to an Arai RX-7 or Preferebly then X-11. Just wondering if anyone who has had a large round head in a RF1000 was able to get into a large X-11? Is it the same head shape? Also I hear the RX-7 has the Intermidate oval or rounder.. anyone fit the RF1000 and RX7?

Also with my 42us/54eu AS jacket the fit seem's good but the arm's are somewhat short and so is the front. But im worried about going to a 44us/54eu jacket if it will be too baggy for a 170lb frame. My current 42 fits a little tighter with the RC backprotector. But im planning on getting another back proteror as well as chest guard.

Thanks,
Sam

comeon guys anyone???

I actually just drove 3 hours in a blizzard to a shop which did have an X-11 in large. It fit perfect and quite possibly the best feeling helmet ever!!

But if anyone can help with the jacket sizing it would be appreciated!

You have got to try one on. I wore a xxl if not a xxxl poorly fit HJC helmet until I bought my Arai Vector. Its an xl and I was surprised it fit my monster head,(see my avatar?, pretty close) they all fit different. I low sided at low speed when tire broke loose wearing the HJC and saw stars, crashed fast at track wearing the brand new Arai and felt fine. (I am always surprised how many helmets end up for sale on the net due to not fitting, all surely bought on line without a try on)

good luck
