Default Fuel experience.

I arrive at the gas station because I was low on fuel to discover I have no wallet. No wallet=no money=no gas.

So here is the dilemma. My home is 15 miles away and im at 22 miles past the F-trip. I can either hop on the freeway home with a steady throttle or call a buddy. I decide to give it a test.

I hop on the freeway with steady throttle, no excessive accelerating etc and surprisingly made it home with the f-trip reading 37 and change. It also happens I was checking the gas tank mileage, so I reset the trip one to 0 when I pumped gas yesterday. From the last time I filled gas till I got home today the total miles I put on that one gas tank was 172miles which is alot higher than I expected. The most Ive seen was around 150ish, but keep in mind these were mostly highway miles.

Last time i was went 30 past the F-trip my bike died right here http://www.r6messagenet.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=70167

I dont know how much more I could have done, but I think the 6 is capable of pushing more miles out during high way cruising. Im guessing around the lines of 180miles per tank, highway mileage.
What do you think

all bikes will be different, but yeah highway cruising will use LESS fuel.

When cruising the interstate my f-trip comes on at around 150 miles, i go to about 170 or so before I deside to pull over and gas up.

meh i get weary... almost immediately after the f-trip i start looking for a gas station. Even on my trips from houston to austin which can easily be made with one tank, i still stop to fill up lol.

I do the same thing, as soon as I see the gas light im looking for a gas station. Usually because im riding in remote areas and who knows when I'll find a gas station, and who knows how ill be able to get gas if I run out!!!

yeah exactly... better safe than sorry lol. On city streets and remote areas, no one's willing to stop to help you out so it sucks. If i was r6AJ, i'd be calling my roommate and be saying "hey ass, come to so and so gas station and bring my cred card"

last time i filled up i got about 52 mpg. i think i filled up at around 173 with 8 miles or so on the f-trip. but that was taking it easy and highway driving the whole tank.

man ya'll are churnin out some better miles than me. maybe its time to clean the ole air filter. i ran out of gas once looong ago on my old gs. since then i've become a bit paranoid and now always keep $5 in a little baggy under my passenger seat. its not much, but it might be all i need to get me home.

Yeah, 50-55 is what I get on my '01 if I'm commuting. In the canyons, lots of accel/decel, maybe 40...
