options to carry an extra lid around
hey all
my gal is going to start riding with me. with that said, what options do i have in carrying around the extra lid to her place. the most obvious is the backpack. its about a 30 min ride.
i've seen riders with the lid attached under the passenger seat.
f*ck it, should i just leave it at her place?

Leave it at her place, less incentive to pick up some strange on the way...

I put mine under the passenger seat and it scuffed up my tail...
I heard bad stories about the cargo net.
I say leave it at her place..

the manual actually suggests not to hang a helmet on the helmet holder while riding for the reasons above in addition to possibly causing imbalance.

Yeah, I'd just leave it at her place or use a backpack in case you want to take other chics for rides without her knowing. I've heard some really bad stories about cargo nets and had a few close calls carrying weekend duffelbags on the tail with cargo nets. Backpacks are the best route.

I've always transported an extra helmet on the holder (under the passenger seat) and never had a problem. Just be aware that you're a little wider if you're splitting lanes.

if i know im going to be out until it gets dark, i usually just tack on the clear visor, even if its cloudy/not as sunny.
but i heard that some jackets have a "visor pouch" right in front of your gut (or somewhere else)

I fell off the bike once, while wearing a backpack.
Don't do it. It's FUCKING STUPID.
Backpack is great if you want you break your fucking spine. Don't be a dumbfuck. If you're going to be a gear nazi, be smart about it. Tank bag is 9000X better than backpack.
Gear yap yap yap yes, it's good to have.. yap yap yap...but gear worn like a moron will fuck you harder than no gear will. Work on the physics of crashing..
