Default Slipper Clutch - Blip or no blip?

I never really looked into the validity of this, but I heard somewhere some time ago that blipping / rev matching with a slipper clutch would actually be bad for it.

Today, I caught myself blipping on my 2 > 1 shift and it's just a habit that's really ingrained into me... especially if I'm going to be swapping between my R1 and R6.

I just want to know, is it OK to blip the throttle even with a slipper clutch? Search didn't give me any answers, I tried!

AMA riders still blip...so do I. It still makes the release of the clutch that much smoother.

Especially if you have a crappy R6 slipper clutch!

OK, good to know

On my way home today, I downshifted right before a right hand turn and leaned into it and went WOT... I was surprised that the back end actually kicked out and powered through the turn agressively. Maybe it's just the Dunlops lol

I'm sure its better to blip, but when I got my zx6rr, I had never ridden a slipper clutch, and I didnt blip, and I loved it. I didnt quite have the blip and brake technique down perfectly, always had a little bounce in the brakes when blipping, so for guys like me, not having to blip was great. Now I am back on a R6 with no slipper clutch and am screwed.

Anyone have any techniques for reducing that little twitch in the brakes when blipping ?

quick question same topic ... occasionally when down shifting from second to first ...using the blip method you can hear and feel the bike hit first gear only to moments later slide into nuetral?
