passenger questions??
I have been carrying passengers for probably about 3 months now. Most of the women i carry like to put there hands on the tank and hold on that way.. What is the correct way for them to hold on to be comfortable????

It helps if they brace themselves on the tank when braking but usually the passengers I carry just keep their arms around my waist.

My wife and I have learned that when accelerating and normal driving she puts her arms around my waist but when braking she braces agaisnt the tank, and its way easier on me, too. Before, she was bracing agaisnt me and it was killer. Either she'd slide into me and crunch my goods or use her hands and put pressure on my sides (or worse once my shoulder causing a steering issue). Once we learned how to use the tank I loved taking her on rides when it was a pain before. The prone tuck is no sweat either, she leans over my back and puts her arms alongside the sides of the tank kinda under my stomach/chest and my arms tuck in on top of her arms.

i've taken only one passenger (my best friend who's about the same size as i am)
She was comfy with both hands on the tank to brake, but arms around my waist. If she wasn't sure what i was doing she' keep one hand on the tank and the other on the tank...which was close enough if she needed to grab on to my waist suddenly.

It's easiest (for me at least) to ride with my hands on the tank-my fiance likes it when I have my arms wrapped around his waist, but that only works when he's accelerating (which is next to impossible in Fargo, it's all 90 degree streets here, lots of stopping). Also-if I would have had my hands around the tank one time before we almost got hit, his balls wouldn't have been murdered. It was back when he had his second motorcycle, a Kawasaki Ninja 250. We were coming around a corner and someone was driving head on towards us. I didn't have my hands on the tank like he wished, and when he hit the brakes-I slid into his seat, and he landed on the gas tank. That whole ordeal would have been avoided, had my hands been resting on the tank!

in my first season a friend of mine took me out on his bike. It had a banana seat and i guess after a while i'd slide forward but not really realize even though i had my hands on the tank.
At the lights he turned around and said "I'd like to have kids one day." I was really confused and had no idea where it came from so i just said "Oh. That's nice". he said it again and i just said "yeah. that's cool". He started laughing at me and told me to move back up because his privates were squished up against the tank. I laughed and said he should have just told me since i didn't have the same equipment i didn't realize it was uncomfortable.
on another note...as a passenger, i noticed it helps if u squeeze ur knees (which are usually around the rider) if there's hard braking so u don't fly into the rider if the braking was harder than anticipated. I don't really do it often since i don't like bugging the rider, but noticed it does take some pressure off the arms and makes them less tired.
