Driver's LiCenSe Test
I have to go take my driving test for the bike... most people told me it is a beyoch to do on a sport bike. Anyway i have a steering damper and i was wondering if i should loosen it all the way or tighten it for going between the cones and for the 90 degree left turn..
thanks

Rent a little scooter from your local yamaha dealer and youll pass it no problem. That way if you fuck up and dump the bike its no big deal. That test is gay anyway.

Find out if the MSF Basic Riders Course that suffices for your license. I know in Florida it does. Had to get the permit first (easy test), completed MSF BRC and immediately headed to the drivers license bureau!!!!!

I took mine earlier this month on the R6 and passed. I missed four points when allowed to miss up to ten.
I missed four points for missing a cone as there was no way I was going to make it, so instead of fucking up and dropping the bike I just went straight. I also missed one point for stalling when I had to stop really fast. I just forgot to pull in the clutch......

When I took my test here in NC, there were 4 other riders and 3 of them were gone after the first exercise. The 4th failed after the second test. I was the only out of 5 to pass!
I find that on that slow manuevers, the rear brake is far more useful then the front. Hell I don't think I ever used the front.

The IL test is pretty hard to do on a sportbike. It's stupid too, I passed it on my r6 but it wasn't easy. I agree, try to find a smaller bike or scooter to do it on. And make sure to turn your damper all the way to the lowest setting or you'll never pass. Good luck

Does the MSF course suffice for the test in Illinois? That's how I'd do it... Well, that's how I did do it here in Ohio, and I don't regret it in the least.

Put your damper on the lowest setting and if you have to put your foot down do it. I think you can put it down 11 times and still pass. Also a good thing to do is get the manual, it should have the test course on the back, and practice it with some cans/bottles. Easy stuff.
Is the test hard, not really, and will you encounter anything like that on the road at 5 mph? Probably not. Sportbikes are hard on it but imagine throwing a big harley in that course. That's even worse.
MSF is good for sure if you don't have much experience. If you have a lot of street experience and jsut need the M endorsement rock the lincense test.

Actually harley's are easy to manuver at low speeds because they can use handlebars much more effective than our bikes.
