Default Train Tracks...

There is a set of train tracks that goes across a road i use pretty much on a daily basis, i have yet to go over them on my bike, only in the car but in the car it shakes you around a good bit so im pretty scared to do it with the bike.
The whole track isnt sticking out of the pavement, just the 2 side rails, the rest of it is under sement, but the 2 rails are sticking above the sement a good inch or so give or take.
How should i go about handeling this on the bike? Im thinking just maintain speed, dont brake right before or going over them and stay straight?
I can picture doing it in my head wile im in the car but for some reason i have the weird feeling its not going to turn out as well as i think.
I dont have a damper or anything like that yet, so will that make it all that much harder, or is it even hard at all?

I think it would be best to slow down and try to go straight across them. Crossing them at an angle with as much as you say they are sticking up may cause your front tire to pull to the side.

Just be careful and you'll be fine.

Thats what im thinking, but i dont want to go to slow, ive noticed going over things to slow usualy makes it worse then it would have been just not brakeing at all.
I think im just thinking about it to much and should just do it but i really dont feel like dropping my bike over something stupid like this.

I pass 2 train tracks everyday to go to work. Just slow down a bit and maintain your speed, also don't cross the track at an angle, just go straight. then you'll be fine.

Hit the tracks square, hold on, and you might want to pick your ass off the seat a couple inches so your back/balls don't get jarred. Other than that it's no biggie....

pull cluth and rev up engine, then dump clutch before you get to the tracks, and wheelie over them....

lets take the MSF approach
1. approach tracks perpendicular
2. slow down
3. weight on the pegs/ass off the seat
4. roll on the throttle right before/as you come into contact with the rail
5. ride on happy

Sounds like a winner to me.. although jumbos approach might be less fun, im sure it would be the approach i should take if i want to come out of it with my head still attached.
Thanks everyone for all the input, i was looking for people to just back me up and say its not a hard thing to do and gain some confidence... i think im gonna test it out tomorrow.

^of course, it's easier on one wheel. You know, less contact area.

+1

Dirtbike technique will help a ton. Keep yer elbows bent, while you're at it.
