So I finally took the MSF course...
...and i regret it. I payed $160.00 to practice how to turn, swerve, learn how to use the "friction zone", firgure 8's, etc. I did not learn anything new, and all this stuff... i could of just gone to a parking lot and practice by myself or with a friend.
To top it off i had to get up at 6:50am on a sat. and sun morning, it was raining, and about 35-40degrees outside with 20 to 30 mile winds... not fun. Dunno, if you're an experienced rider, and know the basics about riding... DO NOT take this course. Just go out and practice on your own and save yourself some money and time.

also if you dont know how to ride a motorcycle, you will not pass the test. They only give you a certain amount of practice time, or laps. I could tell who had no idea how to ride a motorcycle in my class, but i will admitt... they did get better at the end, but they still failed the skill test.
So basically, this class is a waste of time, unless you want to reduce your insurance rate. Oh but guess what? State farm in my state does not offer a discount for taking the msf course, so i just got screwed over on that too. And i got sick. Cant ask for anything else

I just thought that they would teach you a lot more than what they did.

Your course was short. Mines was 3 weeks long, 3 days a week for 3 hours each. I learned alot in my course.

I think you're the first person in history to have gained nothing from the msf. To each his own, I guess. The msf taught me tons, I had the short one too, it was one nite of lecture for about 5 hours and two sundays of 5-hour training ending with the test on the last day.
It's possible I suppose that you just have enough experience and knowledge already that you were over-prepared. You're wasting your money going with State Farm though, switch to Triple-A and you'll save a ton of money.

Wow thats amaxing you say that. I went in with under 3 hours of riding experience. though I seemed to pick it up faster than normall but i got a better score than my dad did who has 20 years of experience. So I think if youreally wanto learn and try hard youll do fine.
