Default Young Grasshopper Looking For Advice

hey y'all. i just got my 2005 r6. took my msf course and waiting on the DL 3?? form to come in the mail. i think i read a post similar to this once somewhere here, but i'll ask it anyways. when i'm starting the bike on neutral and putting it into first gear to move forward, the engine keeps on stalling. am i throttling it a little too much? too little? what's the right amount? should i be slipping the clutch a bit more? i'd usually keep at abuot 2-2.5 rpm (gradually increasing it, of course) and release the clutch slowly, and that's when it stalls. maybe i'm just stupid, but it worked that way during msf. maybe i'm just thinking too much about the break-in period and worrying about this rpm issue too much.

and what framesliders can you guys recommend? thanks a lot for yer time.

make sure the kickstand is up. if its down it shuts off the engine, its a safety feature. so you dont ride off with it down. thats not good.

umm never mind I'm a idiot, thats what I get for not reading your post all the way
more throttle or slower clutch engagement should work

Vortex, Graves, Intuitive are all top brands for frame sliders. When you're just starting to move, make sure you keep giving it more gas as the clutch starts to engage, and be smooth and even with the clutch. The clutch throw on the R6 is a bit longer than the one on the bikes you probably rode in the MSF, and a bit more aggressive to engage as well. You'll get the feel for it. If you have any more questions, don't hesitate to ask!

yea try to let off the clutch a lil easier/slower like above said with more throttle and it should be a smooth start

thanks a lot! it's working now, i popped the gear a bit while shifting, but now i'm engaging it more smoothly in the beginning. i gotta say, it's a sweet ride. can't wait to get more out of it.

+1 to Graves but be sure to go for the cut version over no cut frame sliders. I had no cut's originally and it was a pain in the ass to get the bent piece off from the left side.
