Default Tires Squill

im not sure if this was normal. but i'd like to gather your thoughts about it.

I had never riddin track yet but i been pretty aggressive on my corners.
so aggressive that i ride the shyt out of my front tires. as in no more chicken strip there but still have way to go on the back...

anyway, i was riding on my usual road were i can take the corner fast and with a good lean... i heared my front tire squilling and felt the bike slowly going wider than the usual line i know im taking....

front tire is has about 4000 miles on it but still look good...

so, is it me? am i riding the front too hard?

oh well,, ill take the same road again tomorow and find out whats up... i just dont want it to be too late and find my self sliding on the ground...

it may just be your body position when you ride and constantly riding the front too hard could cause that. try not to force anything. just kind of flow with it hanging off the side. i dont ride on the track but i do ride like it on my roads all around here. knee almost dragging and it feels like my head is like 2 feet from the ground. i got about 3k miles on my front tire and theres about 1/2-3/4 in of chickenstrips i believe. im no expert though.....

That's probably not the best thing to hear. That obviously is your tire screaming in agony that you are overusing it. Now I might have lot's of experience, but I never claim expertise on anything. But I would certainly venture that this is a matter of the bike being right on the edge of breaking loose.

I know at the track I was pushing hard for quite a few laps and I had no squill. Are you getting the tire boogers?

I had this happen to me a few times during my trackday a few weeks ago. I was running Pirelli Diablo street tires and at the end of a couple sessions the front end would push/slide just a little bit through some turns.

This usually happened if I was still off the throttle and decelerating while having the bike cranked over (not on the brakes, though), and would correct itself as I rolled on the throttle and took some of the weight off the front tire.

Just be careful. Even if the tire looks good after 4K miles the tire may not be in the best condition. The rubber can harden/deteriorate and not provide the same grip levels that it used to, and the street is usually not the most forgiving place to find this out........

If that is a good sign of the front pushing (and I'm far from an expert when it comes to diagnosing handling issues from tire wear), then I have some hard evidence to back up my claims......

If its sliding when you're off the gas then you probably loaded up the front when you rolled of the throttle causing it to slide a little. Try getting it slowed down a little more before you turn in then get back on the gas. Sometimes if I'm riding to fast on the street and carry to much speed into a turn I'm not familiar with I'll get that "oh shit" feeling and tense up on the bars which can cause the front to push a little. If you stay relaxed and just hang off a little I doubt you'll have a problem. Also with 4,000 miles you might want to replace that front. Its better to get a new tire than have to replace the plastics on your bike.

try a 70 series tire. if the front is worn to the edges but the rear isnt. you have reached the angle limit of the 60 series tire. and I have heard my tires squeal a few times but only on concrete surfaces.
you will absolutelly love a 70 series front tire. a 60 series is for beginners

Quite on the contrary, I have a 60 series front, but because of the different shape of the Michelins, I've long since used all the tire on the rear, but still have a very small bit on the front that I haven't used.

That's not to say that I don't push the front in some turns, I do, but I've never heard any squeal.
