Default Suspension Settings

I'm 5'9" About 155-160. What Are You Guys Around My Size Running Your Suspension At (i.e.) 5 Lines Showing For Preload, So Many Clicks From Full Hard On Rebound And Compression Front And Rear, Etc...my Bike Is A 2004. The Problem Is When I Am Riding I Feel Like I Am Always Sliding Onto My Tank And I Feel Like With A Better Setup This Would Be Greatly Improved.

Thanks
Matt

Check the search button... you'll find alot of info there.

And no, unfortunately, changing you suspension will not help your sliding into the tank. Use your legs and abs to hold you up.

ps - turn the caps lock off.

what i did was....undid all the settings but wrote down on a piece of paper how many clicks it took and which way to set it bak to stock if i need to. went all the way soft for everything. rode the bike then made my adjustments. rode the bike again. made adjustments. rode again. i ended up liking it stiff as hell. thats the best way instead of copying whut sum1 else likes.

^ what he said

Remember only you know how you like to ride.(man that sounded wrong)...anyway...What I would do it go to some SCCA or other riding events. That's the best time to do a test and tune.

Set the sag properly to your weight and riding position.

And then just tweak with it until you're happy.

Odds are you won't be though, becuase you're hanging on with your arms instead of your legs. So it's pretty much going to feel like crap no matter what you do until you ride better.

Here's some settings. I was trying to find some that Kenny Pryde(sp) did from Superbike, but I think this is close. If you want it 100% right you have to set the sag and go from there but I'm not that good for it to matter that much. (ohh i'm 6ft, 160ish lbs.

All from max:
Front Rebound - 3 out
Front preload - 4 rings showing
front compression - 3 clicks out

Rear rebound - ten out
rear preload - four of nine
rear compression - ten out

tire psi - 36 front and back (that's what this article says)
