Default Shifting without the clutch

I know some people shift w/o the clutch when doing wheelies. But other than that what is the purpose of not using a clutch and dowsn't it screw up your transmission?

Faster shifts, less arm pump, keeps your arm from tensing up from the pull...

as long as you have a light-weight bike, i hear it's not much stress on the gears. and an r6 is pretty light. i think around 390 dry weight?
