Default quick question, hoping for a quick answer - best tire pressure psi for rain

about to go out for a good mountain ride, but its raining real good. what is the best tire pressure psi for rain? i usually run 32 front and rear when mountain or canyon riding, should it be any lower with the rain?

Uh...you my friend have cajones

I really don't know, I'd be afraid of going out if its that bad. I'd take a guess towards ~26psi, however I highly suggest you don't do it for the sake of your health?

Perhaps this is a great time to invest in a set of nice rain tires and an extra set of wheels?

your psi should be fine. just back off a bit. Your tires might not get warm.. and of course the water.
Rain rides are fun.

you are mad, really you are crazy. Wish you teh vest but don't end up a statistic. Your tires will probably not even get to operating temperature in the mountains

i think you all are crazy, gotta learn somehow eh? i rode about 200 miles in the rain in the rockies today. was a lot of fun! i put the tires at 30.5 and 31. seemed to be decent, but definitely had trouble keeping the tire temps up enough. i am on 208s that are due to be changed, im actually getting the pilot powers put on tomorrow, can't wait. today did manage to get a few thrills as the rear slid out on me, but thankfully kept the shiny side up all day. rain rides definitely force ya to focus in on what your tires and bike are tellin ya, since that grip can go away very quickly! cheers
