Default Proper Shifting

I wanna make sure i am shifting corect, when i start in 1 gear i can feel the tranny/ hear it, is that bad ? If i push her hard on the freeway, and go to shift, i pull the clutch in a fraction of a sec before i let off gas it only jumps like 500- 1000 rpms, is this bad for my tranny? How can i improve it?

i think the increase of the rpms is normal since you're taking the load off the engine. it shouldnt be bad for the tranny as long as its completely disengaged
improve? i dont think youre really hurting anything by the way you're describing it.
and what do you mean by hearing/feeling the tranny? you can feel it engage? is it slipping? is it making a bad/loud noise?? you should be able to feel every shift and hear the engine rev and sometimes you can hear the tranny change gears if the engine noise doesnt drown it out. i can hear the tranny 'click' every time i change gears and i can feel it make contact and transfer power to the tire
i dunno if that helps, hopefully it did

thanks, and yeah you'll feel it. especially if you dont give it enough gas. cause you're making the engine push against the clutch at such a low rpm that it will sputter and either come close to dying or just die cause the engine isnt spinning fast enough to get the bike going. at idle the engine doesnt produce enough power to put the bike in motion.
so if you're engaging the clutch w/out giving any gas then you ought to feel a surging feeling until you give it gas or until you pull in the clutch.

R6s shift loud.
And yea...I know what you mean about taking off and hearing the tranny. Hell...I popped the clutch out too fast today and did that. (That is probably your problem) Just get the cluch back in and blip the throttle and start over if that happens. (you shouldnt even have to put a foot down if you are at balancable speed.

i dont know about that. when i learned i started off with no gas and just letting the clutch out slowly. im glad i was told to do it that way or it mightve shot off without me, and let me feel where the clutch starts engaging without adding throttle into the equation. but yeah when im riding and dont give it enough throttle the shift doesnt feel as smooth. and i like to feel the smoothness.
