Managing weight transfer on inclines?
Been reading through TotW2 (thanks again, Och) and was out trying to apply one of the ideas. Anyhow, tried something out and then realized that I was on an overpass, so it's a big left followed by a big right, but it goes up and down quite a lot.
So, when opening the gas to transfer weight to the back tire going up a hill, you can use less throttle? This would translate to higher entry speeds with the same exit speed, but at the top of the hill the road bends away from you somewhat, so is the solution to just hold steady speed and only gas once you're starting to crest the hill? Ideas?
Conversely, on a downhilll section, I tend to gas pretty hard to get the weight shifting backwards, but as the road flattens out you tend to get sucked down, increasing weight on both wheels so you can just continue accellerating hard. (Think of the right handed turn at the bottom of the corkscrew at laguna.)
Anyone have insights on these types of corners that would be useful?
