I have been ridin for about 2 yrs now on the street i finally got my R6 so i have been babying her but i have a very dumb question, i wanted to no if its bad if u hit little pot holes and now they started sticken these damn metal placks in the middle of the street, i jus wanna make sure i am takin good care of her so she can be around for a while, and i want to no different shift techniques, i have been downshifting every gear is that good? and when i shift into 2 gear it kinda jumps, how can i have smooth shifting up and down?

You might wanna watch the pot holes and metal cover plates, you could bend a rim or even as far as bust your tire on those.

No when you are doing this downshift to second is the rear wheel hopping/skipping or is it just wiggling a little side to side?

dont downshift 2 to 1 unless you have to for power...for slowing down just go down to second

Work on rev matching. It will make your rides so much smoother.

Ya i am getting good at matching it when i am crusing but when i am gettin on the freeway i tend to mess up a little bit, i pull clutch in a fraction of a sec fast, so rpms jump up a little bit

I have noticed that when you are pushing it hard to get on the freeway, the revs are already high enough that when you shift to second, you don't need to blip the throttle as much or not as all, because the revs are already high enough to get a smooth shift

one suggestion, as to potholes & planks, is to stand up while going over either, or any other objects on the road, as instructed by the msf. this allows the bike to absorb shock more independent from your body.

downshifting is actually suggested when slowing down. the jumps are normal when downshifting; the key is to feather the clutch to smooth out such jumps. generally, the higher the rpm (when decreasing speed), the slower the release should be (& vice versa).
