How are my chicken strips? (Pics)
Well, I don't really know how to measure my chicken strips so I'll just post a pic. I know progress of a rider is not measured on them solely and that riding style plays a huuge roll, but I think it's a good indication of progress, especially for a new rider such as me. My stats are: new street rider, first season, 2000 miles, brand new tires when I started, never on a track. Anyways, here's the pic, let my know if I'm a pussy or progressing along fine.
Let me know if the picture is too small. I have the full-size image if you need it.

well the chicken strips are the right and left sides of the tire that has not been touched yet by the road. Don't worry about them.... its not a race to see who can get them off first. Just take your time, get use to your bike and of course get use to riding since your a new rider. Patience my friend patience.

Chicken strips are the mark of how far you're leaning the bike. It's not actually relative to your speed very much, as a guy with great body english and fat chicken strips will corner far harder than someone using all of the tire with poor body position.
Who cares? It's a good place to show off the bluing of the tire, anyhow )

Ok, I know all of the things that have been posted. What I didn't know was if your chicken strips were the part of the tire that you use, in the middle of the tire, or the part of the tire you don't use, on the outside. Now I know that it is the outside.
I was merely looking for opinions on if it "seems" like I'm progressing at all because obviously if I just drove in a straight line everytime I ride the stips would be huuuuuge. But thanks for your inputs/opinions anyways. Don't be afraid to post more.

Yours aren't that bad, I have seen some guys with some huge strips. I used to care about my strips, that's when my strips were huge. It seemed like when I stopped caring, my strips were getting smaller.. I think you are doing just fine big homie...

Just be careful not to judge your riding by the blueing of the tire. It means very little. It's doesn't mean you're riding well or the tires are at proper temperatures or pressure. It's just a chemical change caused by heat.

Also, a more true indication would be measuring the chicken strips on the front tire...;)
