Default staying on the rear brake during cornering?

a friend said to ride the back brake during corners because it keeps the chain tight or something..anyone do this or know anything about it?

Never heard of "staying" on the rear brake while cornering. I've heard of tapping it though to settle the rear suspension.

he's wrong

if you're running wide sometimes you can drag the rear brake a little to pull it back down, but why would you want to ride the brake thru a turn? You want to keep your speed up, less friction the better.
