Getting rid of chicken strips is like trying to get your knee down. The more you want to do it the less likely it will happen. Just ride and concentrate on body positioning and where you are looking (far through the corner). The more and more comfortable you get with doing this the sooner you will get the knee down and most likely at that point the chicken strips will dissappear. Oh yeah and it's best NOT to try these things on public roads. But I can't stop you.

All I see is a
But I wouldn't worry too much about having so-called 'chicken strips'. They aren't really indicative of your abilities as a motorcyclist.

after riding my bike all summer i was pissed kuz no matter how hard i tried i had some wak strips on my tires... every time i thought i had ripped around a corner all tilted i got nothing to show for it as far as my tires went.... then like last week i went out with my friend who i hadnt ridden with for a while on a windy ass hill that we havnt been on in a long time... so i led the way and wanted to show him how i had improved being that im a newb. i leaned off the bike, tucked my tows up on the pegs and countersteered that bitch. after we got to the top my friend was commenting on how my body position was way good now and that is how it has to be done... i got off my bike and looked at the tire... booooom later chicken strips... no where to be found...
all about the positioning and not really trying to get rid of them... just focus on the ride.

re:
chicken strips don't say everything. they at least say you ride your bike as oppossed to the guys that cruise through malls just to get noticed with the bucket of chicken strips on the rear tire. Just take your time and concentrate on what you're doing to the bike, not the tire.

Who cares about chicken strips. Chicks dig the rubber boogers that are left after you get the tires nice and warm, then push hard thru the twisties.

im also a fresh rider. even though i can get on those turns pretty fast it just doesn't feel quite right yet for me to get low enough to get rid of the strips. i guess i gotta see somebody do it on the same road i go through, so i can catch some pointers..
for those who can get their knee down on the road, how fast are you guys goin when you are doin these kinda turns? i know its gonna vary on the turns but please give some average speed... thanks

Getting your knee down has nothing to do with speed. And it should not be practiced on the road. But do what you want, I'm not here to preach. I can get my knee down on really fast corners, mid-speed corners and hairpins. So speed is NOT a factor. Practice body positioning and where you are looking. Dragging knees and losing chicken strips almost go hand-in-hand. Watching someone may give you some pointers but you will always second guess yourself. Get yourself to a track or race school to better educate yourself.
