Default Inside Foot Placement

How do you guys set your inside foot for turns when hanging off? I keep my inside foot on the toes but I bend my ankle and toes (essentially, bringing my toes closer to my chins). This seems to help with leaning because that pressure on the inside peg makes the bike lean a bit more.

However, after riding all day like this, my feet and espcially knees hurt.

I've noticed that some riders seem to have the foot straight and not bent as I do. Take a look at the picture of Regis Laconi's inside foot below. My question is, when their foot is straight like this, they can't be really weighing their inside peg. Which is better?

I don't know much.

But i think you throw the knee out just as a measurement. Just keep the balls of your feet on the pegs, and you can weigh the bike propperly through turns

Do you wear boots when you ride? if so, the type of your boots can affect how your feets are weighing on the pegs. I think racer boots are more rigid and stiff, that's why it's hard for them to bend their ankles, but they still can apply weight on the pegs without bending toe or ankles.

I need to put the ball of my boot on the peg myself since I sometimes drag my boot on the ground. I noticed on racers it seems like they keep the ball of their foot on the inside peg and the outside by the heel of the boot. I think most riders weigh the outside footpeg when turning and keep the ball on the inside for clearance. I'm getting to watch the races I Tivo'd and I'll pay more attention since I'm trying to figure this out also.
