Default Throttle hand going numb

So lately i've been experiencing a numbness in my throttle hand about 15-20 minutes into a ride. It's not from my gloves/jacket interaction (at least i dont think it is) as my left hand is fine. But it's definitely due to circulation being cut off because it alleviates when I take my hand off the throttle and shake it out, kind of feel the blood moving back in. Has anyone else experienced this? Is it just something to get used to due to holding the throttle open or caused by improper gripping?

Thanks!

Good question because I experience the same problem. Like you said, after 15 or 20 min of riding my hand gets numb and tingly. I just try to hold my wrist at a different angle.
Hopefully someone will give us some imput

you are using too much of your arm/hand. you should be light, you don't have to SQUUUUEEEEZZZEEEE the handlebar to turn it. just be more light with your squeeze.

hold it with the same strength grip as you would a cup of coffee from starbucks or a water bottle.

i had that same problem when starting out. a wise man once told me to hold yourself up with your legs not your arms/hands.

grip the tank with your thighs, use your abs and make sure your elbows are bent. you really dont want to have any kind of bend from the forearm to the wrist when riding, a little is ok... but you get my point.

Yup yup, its too much pressure on your hands, like natedogg said, keep your weight off your hands and more on your legs, i can tell you its not easy to do and unless you get used to it, you will still ride on your hands a lot... just sit up straight and use your legs to keep your body up off the handlebars.

I used to have the same thing - cup of coffee grip works - just a lighter touch and hold more of your weight with your legs and abs - seating position on the R6 is perfect for that. Besides, if you ride with a good set of gloves, the gloves will provide more than enough grip, so you never need to squeeze or hold on too tight. Just relax, enjoy the ride

Some good advise here. I had the same thing until I learned to posture myself and support my weight properly. =~)

He's got it right. No weight should be on your arms.

yeah, i'm getting the hang of doing this right and it's not only fixing the hand issue but drastically improving my low-speed cornering now that the front wheel is free to turn with the bike.
