on the freeway I put my chest on the tank and keep my wrist straight , I can usually go 100+ miles like that. in town and on windy roads I put more pressure on my tank, but I find that my lower back gets really sore after a short time.

just tell her to squeeze a little with her legs, keeps me from sliding
forward and crushing my BF.

i also use my left arm to hang on, and the right i keep
on his back, that helps too.

yea it may help you, but imagine how it feels on your boy. when you stop you have the natural forces of the stopping pushing your weight forward and now you have your hand on his back so he has the bike forces PLUS your weight pushing forward on him too.

i tell my girl to take the rings off and when we come to a stop to put her hands on the tank so she uses the bike to brace herself and not me.

if he's not saying anything he's just being the nice boyfriend we all should be, but trust me its annoying and can get tiresome after a long ride. just an FYI

my arms are too short to reach the tank, im pretty little.
and basically squeezing my legs keeps me from
doing alot of sliding or much moving. im sure it doesnt prevent all
of it but i really do try my best.
and he tells me, were best friends too so we have good communication.
He knows id rather know than not
hes told me before .....
hes an awesome BF.

i have to say ..... when i didnt know how to ride - 2 up was fun.
but now that i do .... the short trips are fun, but outside of that its
just so much work to try to not squash him.
id just rather ride my R6 next to him on his motard

and oops i forgot to reply about the topic ...

i had the same problem when i first started riding too and i got
the same advice of hold yourself up with your legs not your arms
and hands. so i grip the tank with my thighs and use my abs .

works

I found that for long rides I can rest my elbow on my knee and pretty much hold the throttle where I want it w/ my thumb and pointing finger. Very little stress to the hand and it's almost like a cruise control function.
