Default Am I granny Shifting?

Ok guys its my first bike I own a 03 R6, alot of the time when I up shift from 1st to second it goes in N which pisses me off because I have to wait till the bike slows down to about 18mph in order for me to be able to up shift . If I try shifting before it makes a poping noise, as if it lock out the gear till a certain speed. Whats wrong is it me granny shifting , the bike or...........

Help please, Thanks Hector

bro granny shifting as fa asi know is downshifting with out blipping the throttle but auway i bet it is yor pedal locatio or shit linkage. is your shift lever in a good location? also maybe it is loose. i had a prob upshifting once, andit was because my shift rod was loosely connected to my peg.

or maybe your just not banging it up there hard enough. its a bigger leap from 1st to 2nd because it skips through neutral... so just give it a good kick into 2nd from now.

ya your just not kick it hard enough from what it sounds like, dont be afraid to give it a good kick because your not just putting it in the next gear your also putting it THROUGH neutral and THEN to the next gear.

Default GO GP

Like everyone already said, your probably not hitting it hard enough. If you change to a GP shift, that will solve your issues. It's amazing how a $25 rod can improve the feel of the shifting. It's the way it was suppose to be IMO.
Also you don't have to wait if you are stuck in N. Just rev the engine back up and pop it in gear...no cluncking noise.

Yeah its sounds like I'm not upshifting from 1st to 2nd hard enough. I guess I was trying to be easy on the bike and not bang the sh*t out of the gear! But oh well , where do I get that Moto GP shifter and what brand? Correct, granny shifting up not upshifting hard enough . Mean while I think I try that rev and pop it into 2nd technique when I'm stuck in N. THANKS ALOT GUYS

i would advise not to rev while you are in neutral to shift, that sounds like bad news. I was not kiding when i told you to adjust the shift lever so it is easier for you to shift up.
