Looks like there is a lot of people having problems with it shutting off. My bike now has 2000, looks like I might be coming up on it now. So hope someone finds something out or somehow Yamama finds a solution for this problem. This is definitely a major/dangerous problems. Hopefully, they will not deny us about this crisis.

Skinned Knee...

I'm exactly in Boston, very near the Boston University Campus. I've been to Parkway and GBM before to buy supplies, but never used their service. I think I'm going to schedule an appointment with Parkway to get the Ignition Coil service done to see if that makes any difference. If that makes no difference I'll go back to Parkway and ask them to look at it. $150 is much better than $1000+ when u total the bike while cornering and it shuts off on you. Keep me updated if you do have them look at the bike.

I've got a problem. I've been reading all the threads and my problem is similar. My bike will stall occassionally when it is idling. My bike was at the dealer less than a month ago for sparkplugs and the new ignition coils. Any idea what is causing this? I probably need to open the bike up and check to make sure they put the new coils in. Before I brought my bike to the dealer it was running fine. This problem only started occuring after I got the bike back from the dealership. Here is a list of what they did at the dealership: new sprockets, chain, sparkplugs, and new iginition coils. Any help is appreciated.

I haven't gotten any error codes and I have run fuel injector cleaner through it

its been happening to me for awhile now. i went in to get the coils and spark plugs replaced... and it still does it.

it happens when i'm at a stop or when i'm not giving gas while riding or when i'm downshifting.

does anyone out there have an answer?? this problem can be a dangerous issue.

My dealership just figured out that it was the power commander, we dont know why, but the tech could get it to stall anytime he wanted. Then when he unplugged the pc he couldnt get it to do it again.

my bike died on me today for the first time. 30 minutes into the ride i pull up at a light and pulll teh clutch in and it died. I have no engine mods at all, but i do have the new coils and about 10k miles on it.

ive noticed there are 2 different types of engine shut off. The first is at a stop or while the clutch is in. And the second is while in gear and while throttling. Cuz mine will only shut off while in motion never at a stop. But it looks like the more common problem happens when the bike isn't in motion... do you guys think its all the same problem?

Just wanted to say I have this problem as well, engine will die when I pull the clutch in and come to a stop. I'm curious, if a code pops up, lets say tps, or intake air temp, does the computer then use a preset value instead of the value from the sensor? this might explain why clearing the code could fix this problem for some people. Looks like I need to check for error codes....
