TPS TPS TPS. Clean it. Spray electical cleaner in it and work it back and forth. If you're having the IDLE problems clean your tps. It seems really stupid that this would fix it but it worked. www. r6net work .com/forums/showthread.php?p=199747 (minus all the spaces in between.)

Default Update anyone?

I like to keep this thread updated since there are so many 03+ R6's out there. I need to know the people who posted on here if they have solved it or not and what they did. It seems like people like to solve the issue and not report it which can help other people out.

Let us know guys!1

I've skimmed the first page of this thread and I recently have this problem with my '07 R6 Hi-Rev.

Problem: After warming up for about 3 min. (engine idle seems to waiver from 1500k to 1250k-back and forth), then holding the throttle to 5 - 6 k for 10 sec then releasing, the engine cuts off/stalls. I turn off the ignition, turn off the kill switch then turn on everything again. Bike doesn't start unless I give a little throttle. I smell gas which could be the unburnt fuel after re-starting. After that it works like a champ.

I've found a possible workaround: Warm up the engine for at least 5 min until I get a smooth idle. even then after holding the revs up by 6k for more than 10 sec when I cut the throttle it tends to waiver and almost stall but it doesn't.

I've been told a PC III would help solve the problem as I have a hotbodies exhaust tip (removed the stock can) and would need to replace the air filter also.

Anyone have any problems with after market exhaust tips on '06 - up R6 Hi-Revs?

Thanks for ya'll help!!

Default engine cylinder & oil pressure problem

We all know the cylinders in your engine is lubricated by the oil you put in. when your engine is completely wormed up or overheats then normal the oil in your engine can no longer lubricate the cylinder heads. engine shuts off to prevent further damage. synthetic oil in science terms (me) means oil with sh*t in it. when ur cruzzing around engine is fine even when u push the engine but let off the gas and the engine cylinders slows back down... thats where the friction takes over and the synthetic sh*t is like water instead of oil making it useless. times when u come to a steady stop, problem is the same, cylinders slow down... u get the idea. reset ur power commander map and chain oil. did the trick on my 06 busa. if that dont help park it ouside overnight with a sign FREE on it. no more problems heh?

oh before you change to a thicker oil and pull the p-commander i would try sum fuel injection cleaner. i forgot what kind i used but it was 7$ sure did the trick. wen i first poord it in a 3/4 full tank of gas it still happened. wen tank was 1/4 went from 90 to 160mph and it was smooth. never had problem again. could be the carbs building up.

The lights are still on.. except for the motor. Do any of yous know what the problem is?

I have an 03 r6 by the way.. and I have about 9000 miles on it.

p.s. I recently had it taken in to change the rear tire.

Mine was the sidestand switch. I suggest the people that have stock bikes that still has this problem to do the Ignition Circuit Cut-Off Test in your Owners Manual. This consists of the sidestand switch, clutch switch and neutral switch.

If problem still occurring also check to see if you're throwing any codes, Lean Angle Sensor and TPS.

I have my money that if it's shutting off WHILE riding (not at stop) that it's in an electrical issue.

I strongly emphasize that you guys don't ride the bike if you're having this problem. I learned the hard way. Good luck.

I just turned the idle up to a little under 2k and it runs great so far and my bike shut off at almost every stop. After that i switched the plugs and it runs even better and smoother.
