Default Yamaha extended Service?

1year up on my standard warranty and yamaha offered me to go with YES for another 2-6years. the big question is SHould i ? or should i not go with the warranty . I am a DIY guy unless its like an ENGINE or something that yamha has yet to announce. what is everyone opinion on extended warranty?

i heard someone else on the boards mention that they wouldn't offer it if they didn't make a crap load of money on it so i wouldn't do it. it's a small gamble not to but the only serius problems i've seen or heard of were from people doing dumb shit. like not ever changing oil, or riding mile long wheelies all day.
just continue regular service and you should be all right

Personally I like to keep my vehicles under warranty for as long as I have them. It's not much money but don't get it beyond what you plan on owning the bike for. I've a had few minor warranty issues here and there but nothing major. Just peace of mind I guess. But you could probably do without it too.

I wouldn't bother. The only issue with the '07's that I know of is the crankshaft bearing tolerances are too tight and blowing up causing a rebuild. Don't think this is covered under warranty but I believe yamaha has helped out in a few cases. Do a search I know this has been discussed before and check out the warranty forum.

Now by reading all the info about the bearing issues, has me worried!!! I've still got 10 months left on my warranty, and the dealer I bought my 07 from is going to let me have the extended warranty for less than what Yamaha offers it at...I guess that might not be a bad investment, just in case...I guess the dealer knows that I am not going to drive 6 hours for service, haha!!!

If you get the YES extended warranty, it is good at any Yamaha dealership as
far as I know. I had 3 CCt's replaced on my 06 out of warranty by Yamaha.
