(I don't have any knowledge on an engine other than changing the oil and spark plugs but) So I pulled into a parking lot and it stalled on me. So I waited 20 min. for it to cool down and hopefully be ok and there was the sound of something bouncing around inside and scraping so I turned the engine off instantly and called my buddy to pick me up with my truck for the bike.
So I hauled it to the dealer where I bought it and I do all the services and he was going to take a look at it that week. Come to find out he said the spring to my exhaust valve broke and it sucked the valve down into the cylinder head and went right through the head. The walls of the block where the pistons are all messed up and will have to be re coated. The estimated labor and parts on this is $3,800. I even get a small discount on labor and parts since I've known the guy a while and I get everything at his shop.
At the time this happened I was going like 65-70 mph and RPM was at maybe 9K, if that! What do you think caused this to happen?
So they had a leftover 06 R6 and I got a great deal I couldn't pass up and I got 2,500. on a trade for the 04 R6. Let's hope I have some better luck with this one. And I think I will get the extended warranty because I was told it would have been covered.
Just wanted to see if anyone has hear of something like this before?

That's crazy dude.
All I can think of is that you maybe just got a defective valve spring ... bad luck. The only other thing it could be is if something broke that caused the cam timing to be off (like Cam chaing tensioner or chain some how managed to move with respect to cam gear or cam gear some how shifted) and then the piston hit the valve and drove it hard enough to break the spring and put it in the head.
Sounds like bad luck to me...
Watch out the 2006 R6... I hear they like to spin rod bearings sometimes so you may want the extended warranty if you have this kind of luck.
