Default Extended Warranty worth it?

I have an 07 R6 and was debating on purchasing the extended warranty. Is it worth it and will a full exhaust void any part of the warranty?

You sold your extended warranty back to Yamaha? You can do that? Haha. I got the extended 5 years warranty on mine when I bought it, and now I am kinda asking myself why I did that? What sort of modifications to the bike will void your warranty? And how much of the bike does the warranty cover in the first place?

i think its a waste. these bikes are pretty reliable and if something major does break, it will probably happen within the first season. after that if something breaks, it will probably be reasonably cheap and easy to fix.

From a statistical standpoint, it's a waste of money. If you were likely to get your money's worth out of it, Yamaha would just raise the price again until they are making a profit.

That said, if you pay say, $800 now, that's the most you'll ever have to spend for a part failure or defect over the next 5 years. Would you rather lose a guaranteed $800, or not pay anything now and maybe lose $2000?

I would say its a waste of money on the 05 and older.....I have not heard good things about the 06+ though and would recommend it for these years.......
