new bike question

sup fella's just got a 01 r6 and had a few questions
the guy i got it from told me that the tranny on these things are crap and that yamaha had a recall on them. All the gears are fine and smooth except for 2nd feels like theres teeth missing or somthing it gets jerky after about 5-6k rpm so i usually shift right into 3rd or before 4k.. anyway i couldnt find anything about the recall. is there one? thanks for the help

Nope, no transmission recall...there's a thread around here somewhere that spans for miles and miles about these transmission "problems", check it out (if you have a few hours to kill). I do know there is at least one TSB on the bike, do a forum search and you'll find 'em. Good luck with the new bike pal.
