Default How bad is it for bike to wheelie

I do wheelies oftenly but no where near 1 mile. (Lack of skills or balls.) But ive been hearing its bad for the bike because it is being deprived of oil? Is this true?

Depends on where the oil pickup is located on the engine. Damage to other components on the bike can also occur, i.e steering head bearings and fork seals.

If your not even doin them for over a mile then you have nothing to worry about. If your rockin 10 mile + then you may have starvation issues.

Wheelies can't be any worse than a full on wreck, and a lot of amatuer races (myself included) will ride the same bike after its been wrecked many times.

As far as fork seals go, yes you'll blow them out, especially if you haven't adjusted the suspension properly to compensate for the stress of stunting. But fork seals are cheap, and rebuilding forks isn't that big of a deal and should be done every year anyway.

As for me, the only wheelies I pull are on the start of straight and under hard acceleration.
