Power Commander V for 2005 R6?

I know the official product release says this is for 2009 and newer models. But I know the PCV from the 2009 R6 (21-005) fits earlier years (back to 2006 I've read).

The PCIIIusb for the 2005 R6 is the same as listed for the 2006-2008 R6S (415-411). But they make a PCV for the 2009 R6S now (21-001).

I'm wondering if anyone has had success or failure putting the 21-001 on the 2005 R6, or 2006-2008 R6S. Thanks for any input you can share.
