My bike and suggestions needed
So i posted this also in the other r6 forum too but here are finally some pics of my bike. I bought it all like this used the only prob is that I think I want to raise it up to get better handling even though i'm 5 foot. (yes i'm a petite girl but i love sport bikes ) So I wanted some suggestions on how to be able to raise it up 2-3 inches and still fit on it. Has anyone added soles to their riding shoes at a shoe repair place? also can i still get any padding off the seat? Other than that what else would you guys add or do to the bike. All suggestions welcome.

If the height is still stock I would just let it be. You don't want to have the bike be so high off the ground for you that you have to lean on one leg at a stand still, I can pretty much guarantee it will result in drops.
Nice bike though!

Oh it is def not stock height that is why i'm trying to get suggestions. I can flatfoot it and at 5 foot that is not good. The guy that had it before me was a little shorter than me i guess. I want to be able to ride it without taking it too easy on turns since i'm never sure if i'm turning to hard to I always slow down a hell of a lot. I would rather be able to ride without worrying than be able to flatfoot it.

step 1: take front fairing/nose section off. lower forks (raises the bikes) to be flush with the clip ons, if they are stock clipons.
step 2: find a cheap OEM swingarm on freebay or a forum put it on, cant tell if its a different swingarm or has extensions in the chain adjusters. if the later just take them out. you will also have to take many links out of that chain.
there are a few how to's on the web about shaving your seat, pretty easy to do. just takes patience. although it looks to be low already, so you should be fine. just one leg it at the lights.
as i always say your riding feet on the pegs 98% of the time, so why set the bike up for the measly 2% of the time your feet are on the ground.

If you want better handling, get rid of those swingarm extenders which are lengthening your wheel base, good for drag racing, not the twisties. Shave your seat and drop the front back to stock, unless you have a 70 series tire in it. Looks like the previous owner liked to go in straight lines.

^i think the 03's came stock with 70's
so keep the top of the forks flush with the clip ons when you do change it back, if im right.

Start by getting rid of the extensions. You will probably get some ride height out of that. I would also ask the previous owner if they put a lowering link on the bike. If thats the case then find the stock stuff on ebay or something and then you should be back to the stock ride height. You could always get the bike measure by a computrack machine. We have one at the shop but are out near Boston. Im not sure where the closest one to you is. It might be us. We do get people from Buffalo NY.

Well I know live in Dover NH and is a lot closer to Boston. On a better note i sat on a fully stock r6s today and my tips of the boot touched the ground so i probably only really need only an inch lowered off the bike from stock height so that's a good start.
