Default 2006 r6 tail light on a 2008???

will a tail light from a 2006 r6 fit a 2008 r6???

ive seen a few places selling the integrated tail light but have it marked as 2006-2008... the frame sliders i bought said 2006 to 2008 and they didnt fit my 08 r6.... what do you guys think???

the taillight will work with a little modification...but they are definitely different.

what exactley does a little modification mean??? what kind of work am i looking at for this mod???

you'll have to forgive me, the 07 light will work on the 08 but the shape of the tail has a indention...That means there will be a small gap or space there after you install it. The light will plug up and work just fine. You'll probably be the only one that notices it.

If it were the other way around (08 light in an 07 tail) you would have to modify.

I also have an 07 clear alternatives tail light on my 08. The above post is correct there is about a 1/4 indentation on the 07 light, but not worth fussing about. There is no hole, so you dont need to worry about water getting in there, unless you turn the hose directly on it. If you get a good price on the light its worth it, and you will be the only one to notice.
