05 Bodywork Question

I've got the rapid red 05' with all those ugly decals and the paint definately needs a good freshening up.

Not sure the way to go, i've found complete fairings on ebay for 500+200shipping and then I would have to paint the gas tank. The fairings are sort of candy painted so anyone have any idea how much a candy paint on a tank would run?

I'm wondering if that is the way to go because I could then sell my fairing set which is in mostly great condition besides upper cowl is faded somewhat as well as the tail. Any paint savvy people know how much a candy paint or basic dark red paint job would run the whole bike. What's probably my best way to go for the lowest cost?

candy paint is pretty pricey and tough to match...could be around $150 for the tank

See there are two shops around here that quoted me 300 bucks, I know about the several layers when candy painting but thats alot of jack for a paint job.
