my friend did my rearsets/heel guards and shifters. I wasn't to happy with the way it came out so I re did them, let me say, if your not ready for a mess (wet sanding) and your arms and fingers to hurt like a bitch, then don't start it lol. It did come out great after it was all said and done though.

Just to let you guys know.... If you use this method to polish stuff instead of going and getting it powder coated chrome it WILL tarnish with white like streaks so make sure you keep it clean every now and then!

I did mine a few years ago ('00 R6) and it still looks virtually flawless!

Take your time....take your time and take your time. EVERY imperfection will show if you don't do it correctly. I had my bike parked in the kitchen over the winter.

I clean it once every couple of weeks. Takes about 30 minutes with some Mother's Polish.

I polished my girls R6. Its na 03 and Ive done over 8 frames. This is the 2nd 03 R6 Ive done and the final product is very blurry. It shud be like a mirror. I went all the way up to 2000 wet grit and used brown, white, then red rouge then hand polish. Is there is different metal content for the newer style frames??

Ive done 2 99-02 R6s and 3 03 R1s and they all look like a mirror. Any help??

Default Polishing 02 R6 Help me please!!!!!!!!!!

Can somesbody tell me what happened??? I'm polishing my frame, and up to 800, it's REALLY coming in good. Then i hit the 1000 grit, and it dulls everything and no shine or reflection at all. I try 1500 and it was the same story. With the 800, I already had a clean, blurry refection. Now, after 1000 and 1500, the reflection has gone away.

Is this normal??? Help!!!!!

Hit it up with Mother's Aluminum and Mag polish after every grit change. Use a microfiber towel, works wonders when polishing frames.

i good cheap polish is to take rouge sticks smash it into a powder and mix it with mineral spirts or laquer thinner. do small sections because it dries quick. Works way better than mothers
