What about Mobil 1's motorcycle specific oil, MX4T 10w-40? It's fully synthetic anyone try that compared to the Mobil 1 Extended performance 10w-30 full synthetic?

I was thinking about using synthetic motor cycle specific oil but can't seem to find a 10W 30 weight. I've checked Mobil 1, CastrolEvo, Maxium. Any reason why don't offer it in a 10W 30 weight?

I am getting ready to do an oil change. I live in southern New Mexico and the climate is failrly hot. Is the Mobil 15-50 my best bet?

Thanks,

Shelby

Sure.. the only time you really have to worry about what weight is when its super cold outside. Then you want a lighter weight oil that wont be as thick when its cold.

15w50 is fine for most... I use 5w30, but like I said in the original, people are scared of the friction modifiers... I, and alot of people I know, have never had a problem.

Question

I've just recently changed my oil in my 05 r6 with Valvoline's VRI Racing oil 20w 50 and a mobil m1-110 oil filter. I was wondering if this was a good idea on the type of oil? The oil seems to be doing a great job and no significant changes have been noticed. Has anybody else used this oil and weight?

20w50 might be a little thick at startup, but if you're happy with it then its ok...

I'm always surprised that they tag heavy oil (20w50) as racing oil, when for racing you'd want the lightest oil possible that still offers protection.

NASCAR's use 0wt mobile1 for qualifying now to get that extra 1/2-1 hp.
