Default Kickstand Switch - Code 19

I am getting ready to purchase a 07 R6 which was wrecked for a track bike. The big problem is that it won't start due to code 19. The guy selling the bike tried to jumper it over, but it still won't start. Any suggestions I really want to hear the bike run and see if there are any leaks. Just need some way to get the bike to run in his lot which would be fairly easy.

Thanks,
JBIII

i have the same problem right now with my 2003 r6. same error code 19. it refers to the kickstand as we all know but i tried replacing mine, grounding the wire, and jumping the wires...nothing solved the problem. i found a guy who had the same problem and he says to replace the black box starter relay under the seat. supposedly, you won't ever have that problem again once you replace it. i ordered one online for about 18 bucks so i'll be trying that next as soon as i get it. i'll let you know how it goes....

oh btw, it wouldn't be a bad idea to check the ignition wires and/or look for cuts along the lines. it's a pain because i had to do it myself but it's better than going straight to the ECU as the problem.

Ok, I had this same problem with error code 19 and the starting circuit cutoff relay was fine, i even tested it on another bike. The problem ended up being a wire up front behind my radiator that my fans had cut into. it was a single red wire with a white clip connector. Idk what it was for but when i connected the wire back together the bike started fine.

Sorry for the late response. Mine ended up being the ignition wires. The manual really led me astray on that one. Now I need to find the kickstand switch to replace the one I jacked up.

Yours was the ignition wires?? Wanna fill me in.

On my bike, sometimes that code pops up making the bike not wanna start. The switch is good I believe because if it does start and the bike is in gear, the engine will kill itself if someone puts the kickstand down. So the switch is good.

BUT, like I said, sometimes, you go to start it and it won't start. Code 19. So if it does that, you take the key out, wait five seconds and try again and then it'll start. Once it starts, it won't have a problem. But it does this at random times. I know in the manual it said open circuit to the ECU. But since I'm sure my switch is good and my ECU is good (hopefully - bikes performance is top notch), I don't know what it is. Hoping you can help me out

I have the exact same problem. I'll be looking into it this week. I'm gonna start with the circuit relay thing since that is the most plausable issue for me.

Ive had the same problem. My bike reads code 19 and another that has to do with open circuit to the fuel pump. Also I found a burnt up terminal in the starting circuit relay. I have ordered a new one from Yamaha. Im still troubleshooting.

Well I got my starter relay from my local bike shop and after installing it I am still experiencing the same problem. Time to dig deeper
