Default My new "HID" headlights...

Just wanted to let you know about my recent project.
I bought a set of "HID" headlights off ebay, 8500K H4 bulbs, that were supposed to be the Super White/Cool Blue color, supposed to be 2X brighter than stock. After instalation, noticable improvement, but nowhere near what the description said. They look cool, but they do not have the deep cool blue color that I was looking for (in newer BMWs and other expensive cars). They were noticably brighter, but not as I expected as the difference between real HID systems are compared to halogen. I'd say for $20 it was worth it because I live in a rural place with lots of deer, and hitting one of those guys isn't a good idea on a bike!
Enjoy!

The problem with those is they pull more power and tend to run HOT. So if you smell something burning, it probably is.

did you just buy the bulbs? I just bought 8000k bulbs with balist for 120 ( www.starrotors.com ) and they look great and are really really bright, I have the same bulbs in my Lexus and love the color and light range. Just spend the extra money and buy a GOOD set of HID

Sounds like he just got the "Xenon" bulbs that have been on Ebay forever, w/ the blue coating on them, rather than real HIDs.
