Default No Neutral Light, No Ignition 02 R6

Hi everyone,

I came across a strange problem on my 02 r6. I rode it to work with no problems and decided to add some oil to my bike. Still again, running fine. After work however, i started my r6 up and it immediately shut off on gear. After a little while, i noticed that the neutral light wouldnt come on when it was clearly on neutral. Plus, the bike would turn over but when i press the ignition, there is no sound of any kind. Usually i would at least hear the engine trying to start. At first i thought it might have been the oil, but ive removed and changed the oil with no results in getting the neutral light to come on, which im guess is part of the problem.

So after reading some of the forums, my guess is the Ignition coils. I just needed someone to confirm it before i get a tow truck to tow it too a mechanics shop.

providing they havent already been changed theres a possibility the coils are covered by warranty.
that being said however... dont be shocked if that doesnt heal your sick scoot.
before paying a bill lift your fuel tank and check the harness beside the airbox on the right side of your bike (sittin onnit). youre looking for melted wires and burnt connectors.
had this happen to me in the middle of the last track day i went to.
also should check out your neutral safety switch..... you probably know but in case..... pull your front sprocket cover and BAM! youre there. has one wire... almost rocket science huh?
hope this helps ya bro....

in a pinch you can ground your neutral safety switch wire with a jumper wire but your neutral light will be on no matter what. The bike will start gear so make sure your clutch is pulled when starting! You can also pull you NSS and spray it with carb cleaner and work the little ball bearing and spring around and possibly free it up

I bet you pinched the neutral wire when changing your oil. retrace your steps.
