Question 05-R6: Display has a code (52) and bike won't start

Hey All,
hope you can help with my problem, this is my first Yamaha and I'm trying to figure out the problem.

The Brief:

* 2005 R6 with 6000km
* Bike is recovering from a fall - so damage on right side
* odometer area reads 52 (after startup), the little light in the display blinks 5fast and 2slow followed by a pause.
* Engine temp read HI - even though bike hasn't been ridden nor on for over a week
* headlight is not coming on, all other lights function
* Fuses all check out ok
* Engine does not turn, but starter is going

The Detailed:
I love bikes, and this being my third and one of two in my possession. Recently one of my friends tried out my R6 and ended up crashing it on the side of the road (friend is ok, bike not so much - need new friend and new bike ). Since then the bike hasn't started, as well as the head lights don't come on.

Now I'd like to think I'm pretty handy when it comes to bikes, modifying my others for quite a while now. But the problems I'm getting with this bike are leaving me confused.

- Why are both the headlight and the engine not working? Are they related or they separate issues?
- And Why does the bike display 52 on the odometer after the key is turned? (I looked this up, and its something about a light relay - where is it located, how can I test and fix)

This is what I've done so far:

* Tried to enter diagnostic mode, and the computer won't let me.
* Disconnected the 3 related relays to test (not tested yet)
* Checked bulbs and Fuses all seem ok
* replaced batter with a new one fully charged
* Had a new key cut and coded

pull the airbox off and stuff. pull a plug out and ground it, see if it sparks when it turns over.. then check and see if the injectors are spraying whey you turn it over..
other things to check... tip over switch? any broken split wires that may have been ground when he crashed.

thanks I'll try to do that Now,
Just tested my relays, and it looks like one is Kaput, so I'll be replacing it shorty and post any updates when I do.

A Tip over Switch?
