when riding, and the coming to a stop sometimes but not all the time the idle starts to go up to like 1500-2000 rpms,does not go up and down ,but just goes up and stays there, any solution on what the problem might be?
+1 but the bike is carbed so you will need to sync your carbs... also they sometimes will start to idle high at stops because you may be running lean... do you have aftermarket exaust? have you has a jet kit put in the carbs?
Hey there. Strange that you posted this cause I have been lookin for others with same issue. I have 02 R6, all stock that also idles high. Usually when sitting still after riding for more that 30min. It will sit at about 2500 RPM on mine. If I rev it a couple times it will "sometimes" drop back down to 1500 RPM, but not always. I've kept up maint on bike and is still like new even though it has 16k miles. It's not a major complaint but its annoying.
Something I noticed is when you force the throttle the opposite way, it will slightly drop down almost like its a sticky throttle cable. Or out of adjust. But I would think it would be high idle at all times and not just after riding for a bit.
