Default Battery and R/R?

Had the same problem as most on here with the R/R. After fixing the burnt regulator, my old battery kinda got deformed. Meaning, it bubbled in the front. Three months later this new battery did the same. Bubbled up in front and now i have to push start my bike. Im not driving it because it could cut off while on the road. Anyone had/has this problem? what could be the problem?

it sounds like your overcharging your battery... that means that you could have a bad rectifer or a bad stator. i would find out what the limits are on both and test them with a DMM.

Yeah thats what I figured. I have a new regulator and should have used it instead of trying to sell it. Now I have to buy a new battery. After changing the battery and new regulator, how can i tell if my stator is blown? I read the how to fourm on changing the stator, But is it easy has it seems?

just check the voltage off the regulator.. you'll have to check the manual for the prongs you need to touch.. stator is easy, just get a new gasket, you cant just use liquid gasket either, you need that extra clearance

I had to bring up my old post because, i didnt have the time to work on my bike til recently. Ive read every thread, post, and gone over the owners manual plenty of times. So i followed all advice and this is where i stand.

I have a brand new oem rectifier and stator/gasket on. Brand new 12v b 4 10ah battery. The battery reads 12.6 with motor off. It reads 14.7 with motor on. It reads 14.2+/-V @ 5k rpm. On one post a member said the battery shouldnt be over 13.7 v during iddle. Manual says 14v/320w at 5 rpm and no load regulator at 14.1 to 14.9v(< i dont know what that means). Another thread said the r/r is bad if the battery read 16v. Which is true and are my volts correct at 14.5?

Also I read that the head lights could of fried my r/r, is this true? I placed cool blue H4 lights from autozone 60w but, they blew after only three months. So i ran one light on high beam util i bought my new parts. Now i have PIAAs in there @ 60/55watts.

I now have the new parts in but scared to ride cause the parts might get fried and bike will cut off. My truck is getting painted so i will have no way of getting it back home if it does. So can someone help me out with my info, does things sound right now?
