Default stupid battery question

how the hell do you take out the battery on a 2005 r6? i took off the positive and negative leads, the 3 bolts to the gas tank and the rubber strap over the battery. i moved the gas tank around and still cant get the battery out. is there a way to remove the metal bar that is preventing me from taking the battery out or am i missing something?

I was quoted 180 for an OEM battery (mind you that's in Canadian funds).

You can get a Yuasa sp? Battery, for much cheaper. I ended up getting a new battery for 100, not 180, so shop around.

You should be able th get the battery out no problem, you usually just lift one edge adn it should slide out. You want to slide it up and towards the rear seat.

Another word of advice, test to make sure it's the battery first. I got lazy and decided it had to be the battery without testing. Turns out the battery was fine, but my Regulator/Rectifier or Stator is actually pouched.

Don't spend money if you don't have to

I know you can check your service manual and check the electrical specifications section and it will tell the proper output voltages and amps. If you have a mulitimeter with the little hooks or rings that wrap around a wire. It can somehow tell through the wire without taking it apart or getting at the ends to tell power coming through. It would obviously have to be running to do so. Other wise you can check resistance to both places. If you get no resistance something is messed up. Youll have to look at manual to find out where your wires go on your bike. Ustually the stator wire goes under tank though! What exactly is wrong with your bike as well?
