Default HomeLink Install on Ram Air Cover 06 R6

Sry it took so long to get this up guys. Below are the steps that I took to install my Homelink Unit on my Ram Air cover for my 06 R6. This mod is great for ppl that have two or more garage doors or gates to open.

** I'm not an expert so if you fuck up your bike its not my fault**

Parts Needed:

1- HomeLink Console -Model #: 1149213C4TU64
1- 9 Volt Heavy Duty Connectors
1- 9 Volt Battery
1- Piece of Heavy Duty Velcro

Other parts and handy tools:
2 part Epoxy or Panel Bond
Rubber Coated C-Clamps
Dremel or Small File

First off you want to try to find a Homelink unit that is compatiable with your garage system or gate system. (Most of the Newer Model Garage and Gate Systems have this feature built in.) I got my Homelink Unit (Model #: 1149213C4TU64) from a local junk yard for $5 out of a 2004 Buick Lesabre. It was the kind that fits inside the Sun-visor. **Make sure you get the wiring harness out, with it at least 4" to spare** Also the unit itself is just a small black box and it has a cover over the top you will need that also to mark your holes. Pics Below A few of these website sell them but you have to make sure that they will work for your system. The one from JP customs works with all gate and garage door systems that I have come into contact with.

Second:Remove Your right or left Ram Air cover it really doesn't matter whatever your more comfortable with. Make sure that the cover is clean!

Third: Using the out side cover of the Homelink Unit mark your 3 holes in the top center of the Ram Air cover with a sharp pencil. This will serve as the holes for your buttons. I drew an x inside my circles to dremel through in the center and cut them out. After you dremel the holes out (take your time and use the dremel on setting 1-3. I used setting 2 for mine. You want to position the unit and check for any clearance issues.

Fourth: After you postion the unit and get it to where you like it, and make sure that your buttons depress and come back up with out any issues. You place the buttons on the ram air cover through the holes and use a very small dap of super gule to hold them in place. Then place the unit on top of the buttons once again check to make sure the buttons work properly before you gule the unit to the ram air cover. Using Black Panel bond or 2 part epxoy and rubber coated C-clamps to hold the unit into place and let it dry for 2 hrs.

Fifth: Now we move on to the electircal part. You can hard wire this into your bike but 99% of the Homelink Units are not water proof. So when you wash your bike you need to remove it or try not to get it wet. Hence the reason for the 9 volt battery and 9 volt connectors. I wired my unit to a 9 volt and velcroed it to the ram air cover so that I can remove it at any time with ease. **The unit only draws power when pushed on.** So a 9 volt should last a good while.**

Six: Program your homelink unit following the instructions and install it back on your bike and your ready to roll!!!

Pics below go with the steps:

One more thing guys here are the programming instructions You can find them on the homelink website. Read the well it helps to have a ladder or a long stick to push the "Learn" button on your garage door unit!
